关于MATSEC

The Matriculation and Secondary Education Certificate (MATSEC) Examinations Board was established in 1991 by the Senate and the Council of the University of Malta. The Board was entrusted with the development of an examination system to replace the examinations set by UK examination boards in Malta. It aimed to increase access to examinations from 20% to at least 80% of the population, a target that has been proudly achieved and maintained since 2005.

MATSECEB Matriculation and Secondary Education Certificate (MATSEC) Examinations Board的全称是入学及中学教育考试局，由马耳他大学的理事会和委员会建立于1991年。考试局建立的目的，是代替原来英国在马耳他的考试局，并致力于马耳他本地的考试系统的发展。其目标是把马耳他参加考试的人口比例，由原来的20%升致80%。而这个目标于2005年就完成了，并一直保持着。

The new Board also took over the functions of the Matriculation Board which also used to set examinations at Ordinary and Advanced level in a number of subjects. The MATSEC Examinations Board holds records of Matriculation Examinations that go back to the late 19th century.

考试局同样取代了原来O水准（O Level）和A（A Level）水准课程的考试内容。考试局目前 拥有19世纪晚期以来的大学入学考试记录。

The MATSEC Examinations Board is made up of members representing various stakeholders of the Maltese educational system. A list of members can be found on the MATSEC newsletter which is available on the MATSEC website. MATSEC acts as the operational branch of the MATSEC Examinations Board.

SYLLABI 教学大纲

2.01. Syllabi specify what is to be assessed as well as the means and structure of assessment.

2.02. MATSEC is responsible for developing and maintaining syllabi for a range of subjects at four different levels: Secondary Education Certificate (SEC), Secondary Education Applied Certificate (SEAC), Intermediate Matriculation (IM) and Advanced Matriculation (AM).

MATSEC的考试包括四个级别，分别是SEC（中学教育证书），SEAC（中学教育应该证书），IM（中级课程大学入考试），AM（高级课程大学入学考试）

2.03. The year indicated on a syllabus is the year in which the final assessment is scheduled.

在教学大纲上看到的年份，即是当年安排考试的年份。

2.04. New syllabi are normally published at least three years before the subject is examined in the case of SEC and SEAC, and two years before the subject is examined in the case of IM and AM.

如果是新的教学大纲，相对于SEC或SEAC考试，要提前三年；如果是IM或AM要提前2年公示。

2.05. All subject syllabi are available on the MATSEC website in the Syllabi section.

TIMETABLES & CLASHES 时间表与冲突

2.06. Timetables for both the Main/First and Supplementary/Second sessions are made available on the MATSEC website in October of the year preceding the examination.

通常每年10月会公布考试的时间表。

2.07. Timetables can be found in the Timetables section of the MATSEC website.

时间表可以在MATSEC官方上找到。

2.08. The general timetables enable candidates to plan ahead and make sure the examinations they register for do not clash with any personal activities.

2.09. In the case of clashes, candidates are to inform MATSEC sending an e-mail to matsec@um.edu.mt

2.10. MATSEC will not make any arrangements for clashes with foreign examination boards.

考试局不会因为与外国考试局的时间冲突，而对考试规划做调整。

2.11. Candidates may request to sit for an exam earlier or in another venue against a fee as specified in MATSEC Fees document.

参考人员可以申请提前或更换考试地点，会有对应的费用产生。

2.12. Candidates may request a change in school following registration against a fee as specified in MATSEC Fees document.

参考者如有一些变更要求，根据考试的费用文件来缴纳对应费用。

DETAILED TIMETABLES

2.13. Detailed timetables with examination centres and the candidate’s index number are sent to candidates by post approximately ten days before the start of the examination session.

考试前约10天，具体的对应考试中心的时间表会通过邮寄的方式发给参考人员。

2.14. Information about aural/oral and practical components are sent to candidates by post with the detailed timetables.

关于听说与实操的内容，具体信息与时间表也会通过邮寄的形式发给参与者。

2.15. Timetables are sent by MATSEC.

所有的时间表都是由考试局发出的。

2.16. It is essential that the candidate’s details on the timetable are correct as these will appear on the examination certificate. Should the document contain any error/s, such as ones related to the candidate’s name, address or ID card number, the candidate is to inform MATSEC by sending an e-mail to matsec@um.edu.mt. In this e-mail, the candidate is to: a. Submit a completed copy of the ‘Amendment of Personal Details Form (available from the Resources section of the MATSEC website); b. Attach a scanned copy of his/her ID card or passport; c. Pay the applicable fee of €10.00

很重要的一点是，参加考试人员的信息一定要准确，因为这此信息会出现在证书上。如果文件上有任何的错误，如涉及名字，地址或身份证号等，参考者需要与考试局联系，并递交个人信息修改申请表，这个可以从网站上下载。然后把正确的护照或身份证扫描件作为附件，并支付10欧元的手续费。

2.17. Past examination papers from 2012 onwards can be downloaded from the Examination Papers section of the MATSEC website.

MAIN/FIRST SESSION 第一次考试/主考

3.01. Candidates may register for MATSEC examinations through the MATSEC portal. The portal and information about it may be found in www.um.edu.mt/matsec/register

3.02. Applications are open around the end of October. The date is made public on the MATSEC website and other media.

3.03. A valid eID is required to register for MATSEC examinations.

3.04. Applications will be accepted by hand at MATSEC only for justifiable reasons, as decided by MATSEC.

SUPPLEMENTARY/SECOND SESSION 补考

3.05. Applications for the Supplementary/Second session are managed by MATSEC.

3.06. Applications are open a few days following the publication of the Main/First session results (mid-July). Dates are published on the MATSEC website.

在第一次的考试结果公布几天后，7月中左右，申请者就可以关注考试局网站发布的时间了。

3.07. Online applications can be completed via um.edu.mt/matsec/apply

3.08. Non-electronic applications are accepted at MATSEC only for justifiable reasons, as decided by MATSEC.

EXAMINATION VENUES 考试地点

3.09. The selection and quality assurance of examination centres is delegated to the Ministry of Education Examinations Department.

3.10. The recruitment and training of invigilators and head of centres is delegated to the Ministry of Education Examinations Department.

SEC SUPPLEMENTARY SESSION 证监会补充会议

3.09. Candidates are to apply online using the details provided on their result slip for the Main session.

3.10. For SEC, the session held in September is a supplementary (resit) session meaning that: 在9月举行的补考即:

a. Only the compulsory subjects required for one’s admission to sixth form are offered, that

s, Maths, Maltese, English Language and a science subject (Physics, Chemistry, or Biology);

b. Candidates can only sit for this session if they registered for a preceding Main session;

c. Candidates can only sit for Maths, Maltese and/or English Language exams if they obtained a Grade 6, 7 or U or were absent for the examination in the Main session;

d. Candidates can only sit for one of Physics, Chemistry, or Biology if they did not obtain at least a Grade 5 in any one of these subjects in the Main session.

MATRICULATION CERTIFICATE EXAMINATIONS: SECOND SESSION

3.11. The Second session of Matriculation Certificate examinations held in September is a new session of examinations, separate from the First session.

在九月举行的第二次大学入学证书考试是与第一届考试分开的新一届考试。

3.12. Candidates may apply for any one subject at Advanced level, any one Intermediate level subject from each group of the Matriculation Examination, and Systems of Knowledge.

LATE APPLICATIONS 迟到的申请

3.13. Late and Very Late applications for the Main/First session are accepted on the MATSEC Portal. Late registrations are available on the published dates. Very Late registrations open soon after and close unannounced.

3.14. Late applications for the Supplementary/Second session are accepted at MATSEC, University of Malta on the published dates. These are usually open at the beginning of August.

3.15. Very late applications for the Supplementary/Second session are accepted at MATSEC, University of Malta, after the dates available for late applications.

3.16. SEC candidates may apply to change the paper option for subjects (from SEC Paper IIA to Paper IIB or vice versa) during the late and very late applications periods.

SEC VOCATIONAL AND SEAC SUBJECTS 职业教育与应该学科的考试

3.18. Candidates wishing to register for SEC vocational and/or SEAC subjects are to do so at the beginning of their course (Year 9/Form 3). 3.19. Applications open around mid-October.

SCHOOL CANDIDATES 学校侯选人

4.01. The coursework component is assessed by the class teacher and the marks are forwarded by the school to MATSEC.

4.02. The coursework must be made available at the school for members of the MATSEC Markers Panel to moderate the work (i.e. to ensure that the work is fairly corrected and that the same standard of marking is used across different educational institutions).

4.03. School candidates are to abide by the deadline set by their respective schools. The coursework of a school candidate will not be accepted if it is submitted directly at MATSEC.

4.04. Candidates may be asked to sit for an interview about their coursework / project. Interview dates are published on the MATSEC website.
